Amazon continues to be the largest online trading chain that handles hundreds of millions of user requests daily. The company is now focusing on the latest technologies and has started using machines in the packaging of goods. If all goes as planned, robots will replace thousands of people who are now part of Amazon staff. The machines scan the goods and then pack them in their respective packaging.
Amazon’s initial tests are successful, and the company is considering installing similar robots in at least a dozen new warehouses. According to their data, each of them replaces an average of about 24 staff, with about 2,000 people in the facility. The sales giant is extremely serious about the future of this idea and is considering integrating an increasing number of robots and thus speeding up the whole process of packaging the goods.
Of course, we can ‘t help adding that this will also reduce Amazon’s costs. This is an important economic factor that has the potential to significantly improve its financial situation. On the other hand, the automation of the entire process would reduce the possibility of human error, which often leads to confusion of shipments. Amazon’s new devices are also capable of packing four or five times more boxes than an average worker, but also working 24 hours a day without interruption.
